POWERS!

Hey all, I'm often asked what's on my "list". Well here is one of my favorites, it's POWERS! Written by Brian Michael Bendis and art by Michael Avon Omening it follows the adventures of Christian Walker, a homicide detective in a world of super powers. The series definitely has an adult feel to it as sex, drugs, violent deaths, and strong language are a huge part of the book...think F/X network type shows like The Shield and Sons of Anarchy. It's not your typical book which is why i like it, almost anything can happen within an issue. The series has recently begun anew with Walker partnered with former Internal Affairs officer Sunrise, it's a great jumping on point for new readers and I highly recommend it!

Hey guys, just an update, dunno if any of you remember Wildstorm announcing they are doing a God of War mini-series...well it's been pushed back to release with the game...slated for March 2010. In the meantime be sure to pick up your God of War collection for PS3...you also get a GOD OF WAR III code so you can play the exclusive 30 min demo!!!

Outsiders - Dan DiDio and artist Philip Tan

Dunno if everybody heard...but apparently Dan DiDio will be taking over writing Outsiders in January! And he'll be teamed up with superstar artist Philip Tan...who I must say is getting better and better. Their run starts with issue #26 out in January and with creative team claiming they are huge fans of the series let's hope it's a good run.

Red Robin #6 - New artist!

If you haven't been reading Red Robin...then you have no excuse now! New Artist Marcus To joins the team with this issue. Here's a quick recap of what's going down, Red Robin aka Tim Drake, aka Robin, is on the hunt for Bruce Wayne, yeah he believes Bruce is still out there. The latest part of his plan is to join a little group known as the League of Assassins run by none other than Ra's al Ghul. The book does a great job of showing how Tim Drake should have been the next Batman! He's cold, calculating and extremely skilled. I'm not knocking Dick Grayson as Batman, but Tim Drake would have also made a great replacement as well.

Human Target

Hey all, sorry i've been falling behind on the blog posts (i think i'm going to have to enlist some help soon!), i'll try to keep up this week!

Well some of you may have seen commercials for a new upcoming TV show, entitled Human Target! While this TV show is based on the brilliant DC Vertigo series of the same name. It follows the life of Christopher Chance...someone i like to call a reverse assassin, meaning if you find out your life is in danger he takes your place until the assassin reveals themselves and then he takes them out with his mad skills! By taking your place i mean he really takes your place, he assumes your entire identity so far to the point that he is forgetting who he is, which is the great twist in the book, his struggle to continue his work despite the fact that every time he takes a job he looses some of himself in the process.

While the TV show is going a more action route...looks like he's an extremely skilled bodyguard of some kind, it's nice to see even a hit of this great book in a TV show. The series is available in TPB so pick them up if you want a good read!

Incan Gold!!!

Welcome the newest Heroes World board game staple...Incan Gold!!! This is quite possibly one of the simplest games to play and packs a mean fun factor, and it gets even crazier when you get up to 8 players!The concept is simple...you are adventures, Indiana Jones style! You enter the temple to search for loot, and you only have two options on your turn: continue searching the temple or head back to camp with whatever loot you've found. During each round (there are 5 rounds) you will flip a card in the deck, after each card is flipped you divide up all the treasure, if the card is a trap you get nothing...turn over two of the same trap and you loose all your loot! Only the brave will venture deep into the temple and get the most loot, but are you smart enough to stop before losing everything?!?! How far will you push your luck? and if your the last adventurer in the temple you'll get all the loot instead of sharing!

This is a great game that anyone can play! Each game only takes about 15-30 min and it's all for the very affordable price of $24.99!!

Archie #603 - Archie Marries Betty!

yeah? you thought you knew what was going down for the comic event of the century?! well you were wrong!! you thought he marries Veronica from part 1??!?! hahah, you've been fooled! Within six issues ALOT can happen, and we see the exploration of the other side, what if Archie marries Betty?! Alternate future? oh yeah...but what happens after he sees both scenarios?

Archie Comics has changed alot over the years, with the possible animated series on the horizon only big things are instore for our favorite red head!

Daredevil #501

DD #501 is out this wednesday. It marks the start of a new era for DD as we have new writer and art team taking over. Andy Diggle has taken over writing chores from Brubaker so he's got some big shoes to fill. But if you've been reading his Thunderbolts and The Losers you know he's got action down on lock! Roberto Del La Torre takes over in the art department and it looks pretty good so far, his style will fit very well with DD.

If you haven't been reading up till now, this will be a great jumping on point but i do recommend you go back and read some older Daredevil cause it's been soooo good! The current arc is that DD decided to cut kingpin out of his deal to become the new leader of the HAND (ninja clan) and decided to take the deal himself! Marvel seems to be giving Daredevil's writers chances to take DD where ever a good story will follow so this looks like it's going to be a fun ride!
